SPINK was contracted by MAKAR to project manage the project delivery from wind and watertight. Set over-looking Eileen Dolan Castle, this remote project presented several challenges, which meant we were on site for up to 16hrs a day in the final stages!
The stunning views were matched with a very high-end interior design provided by the end client, which we managed the installation and fit out to achieve a very high air tightness standard, coupled with a very high-quality finish. The building inspectors signed off their completion inspection noting this build was probably the highest quality finish they had seen in a new build.
Achieving this high standard came with its challenges, from supply logistics and damaged deliveries to integrating furnishings and window fittings inside the build process as well as a moving target for external works. Fortunately, we had some real professionals on the job, including Air Change Ltd for mechanical ventilation and heat recovery, RI Cruden for electrical and plumbing and Ross & Co (Painters and Decorators) for the tape and fill.
Despite the challenges, we successfully saved the client a substantial sum from their drainage and groundworks costs in conjunction with the local authority, which included improving the existing drainage system, and delivered a beautiful finish throughout this beautiful holiday letting build.”
