Completed in 2023, Spink Architectural Design was contracted to project manage the internal fit-out of this 4-bedroom high-performance home. 

Working with local contractors, including joinery by Larchstone Developments, plumbing by, and electrical by Brian Marshall Electrical, the internal finishes were to the highest standards. Helping to minimise embodied carbon and long-term carbon production, sustainably sourced timber is used throughout this build for all structural elements. The long-term energy efficiency has been taken to off-grid capability by AES Solar, who designed and installed a complete solar energy harvesting system, including both PV and Thermal. Paired with a Tesla battery, this stunning home exports overproduction to the national grid. Air quality is guaranteed by the Zehnder Comfoair installed by Air Change Ltd.

Inside, the thermal performance of a MAKAR home is taken to new levels – the house has only a wood-burning stove and an Everhot electric stove for heat. After the -14 of winter ’22-’23, this decision was tested in outside temperatures as low as -14C. Inside, a comfortable 20C was maintained.

As part of our project management services, Spink was contracted to prepare and submit ‘as builts’, including an amendment to warrant and all completion documentation.
